Fall Tour 2010 and Our Final Days In St. John's

Hey All! We are about to embark on our first cross country tour and the excitement is thick in the air. Kicking off the tour with a show at The Ship on September 9th, we then leave for the mainland the next morning. Details concerning the 2010 Cross Canada Tour will be soon to follow. The last half of August will see us play three more shows before the kick off. Firstly, at The Rose and Thistle on Wed. 18th for the 24 HAM,Friday 20th at Harbourside Park, and Tuesday 24th at The Ship with the great Eddie Blake(of the United Steel Workers) and his troupe of faboulous rockabilly musicians! We have returned! Salmon Fest was a great time and the Maritimes treated us graciously, but the fun isn't over yet, we are all very excited to perform at this year's NL Folk Fest in Bannerman Park. Not only are we performing on Saturday evening, but there will also be a show Friday night at The Ship with BC's Shred Kelly. Have a week!
Big Summer News!

We are excited to announce that the band will perform at the annual Exploits Valley Salmon Festival concert in Grand Falls-Windsor on July 17, as well as at the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival in St. John’s on August 7. Along with playing these festivals, the band will heading to the mainland for a small summer tour before returning in July! For details see the Shows tab. Have a great summer!

Hi Folks! Juno week is upon us and St. John's is buzzing with musical energy. We hope to tap into some of that energy when we play the MusicNL showcase this friday at 12:45am. Then on Saturday we will be taking the stage with The Good Lovelies and our friends, The Dardenelles at Greensleeves on George. Make sure to head out and support Juno week!

Just a quick note to let everyone know we will be playing a Mighty Pop show on April 10th, opening up up for the wonderful Said The Whale. We have also confirmed that we will be performing at Junofest on Saturday, April 17th. Further details to follow, check our "Shows" page in the coming week!
Dies For a Bit of Republic of Doyle

We are excited to annnounce that "She Only Loves Me" will be featured on Episode 9 of CBC's Republic of Doyle this Wednesday, 9pm, 9:30 NL time! We are all fans of the show, and it is a great honour to be part of it, tune in and support the Newfoundland and Labrador arts community! Gearing Up For Summer!

Hola! We are back from our first little musical excursion together and I am making a note here, huge success. By our standards a huge success is that we made it home in one piece, met lots of great people, had a great time playing music and we are still friends ;). Come see us Friday night at The Ship along with Les Domestics, and the insanley talented AE Bridger. We have a busy few months ahead, hope to see you around town!

Hey Folks! We just released our new album on Friday, February 19th, with a performance at The Ship. We would like to thank Andrew James O'Brien and The Searchers, The Subtitles, Chris Kirby, Richard St. Onge, Sherry Ryan, Tiffany Hancock, Leslie Hewlett, Tony Murray and The Ship and everyone else who made the release party such an amazing evening. In other news, we are hitting the road in the coming week for the ECMAs and a mini-tour through Grand Falls-Windsor, Corner Brook and Stephenville! Check the Shows page for more info. The CD is available at Fred's Records, CD Plus Avalon Mall, and online through the website. Itunes and Paypal will be available in the near future.

Happy New Year Folks! Matthew Hornell and the Diamond Minds are very excited for possibilities in 2010. They have recently been voted "Best New Band" according to The Scope's Best of 2009 Readers Survey and selected as the "Band To Watch" for 2010 by the Newfoundland Herald - and are quite honoured. With the debut CD to be complete in February it's going to be a time! Check out the new shows we have added and will be adding, hope to see you out there. Keep warm and thank you very much.
Recording Is All Done

Recording is completed. We spent many days working with Leo in the studio and at the bar and we are finalizing the tracks and starting the artwork. There were many friends and exceptional players on the album including: Sherry Ryan, Tom Power, Chris Kirby, Tiffany Hancock, Katie Baggs, Ben Rigby, Jon Janes, Richard St. Onge and Leslie Hewlett; along with the Diamond Minds. Matthew Hornell and the Diamond Minds are in the process of recording our first full length album with Leo Bruce of Henge Productions. We have a few special guests that will appear on the album and we will keep you posted with the details of this endeavour, it has been a blast and we hope you will enjoy the results.
